To God with Gladness Sing is a joyful expression of beauty, gratitude, and praise. A sweeping floral form unfolds in blush, rose, burgundy, and warm gold, its expressive petals extending across a soft, luminous ground.
Fragments of the hymn “To God with Gladness Sing” are incorporated directly into the painting, becoming part of the composition rather than simply sitting upon its surface. Layers of mixed media, expressive marks, and oil paint allow words and music to emerge and recede as the viewer moves closer.
Part of the Florals & Hymnals series, the painting reflects the idea that beauty itself can become an expression of praise.
